We regularly select a student to receive class passes to Birmingham Yoga, our beloved partner studio. Here you will deepen your practice in the Ashtanga and Kundalini Traditions.

ANNUAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP
We annually select two students to each receive a full scholarship to Birmingham Yoga's 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program or Sacred Glow's 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program!
To be eligible you must identify within the LGBTQ+ community. Preference is given to people of color and to folks who show financial need. This student must be available to teach for Yoga Unbound a minimum of 6 months upon graduation. Ideally this student has a committed daily yoga practice and some leadership experience within the LGBTQ+ community.

Sample Day during 10 day Immersion:
5:00 – 6:30 am Kundalini Yoga
6:30 – 7:30 am Pranayama and Chanting
7:45 – 10:00 am Ashtanga Led or Mysore (Self Guided Practice)
10:00 – 12:00 pm Break
12:00 – 4:00 pm Class and Discussion
Weekend Session: Saturday 5 am – 4 pm ~ Sunday 5 am – 3:30 pm
Each trainee is required to attend the week long immersion and all of the weekends to receive a certification. If you are unable to attend some of the training hours, you may be able to schedule a private session at an additional charge.

In addition to Scheduled Sessions
Students must complete an additional 10 workshop hours, cultivate a daily practice, attend weekly public class, observe and assist a class twice a month with Akasha or Teachers approved by Birmingham Yoga Teacher Training totaling 370 hours.

Yoga Sutra’s and philosphy
Learn Sanskrit names of asana
Pranayama & the use of breath
Chakras and bandhas
Meditation – developing deeper levels of awareness
Kundalin yoga Kriyas and chants in the tradition of Kundalini yoga
Asana Emphasis will be given to the Asthanga Primary Series as taught by Sri Pattabhi Jois both Led and Mysore-style
Restorative and Gentle Somatic Yoga (in the tradition of Thomas Hanna)
Basic yogic anatomy & physiology
Learning Alignment & how to avoid injuries for your body
Verbal & physical adjustments
How to safely correct others performing asana
Ethics and the business of yoga
